And what’s better than delicious bakery goods? We’ll tell you… Delicious bakery goods made from healthier ingredients that are environmentally conscious.
That’s exactly why we’ve joined forces with East London based bakery startup, Knead a Little Love! Born during the heart of lockdown, this Bethnal Green bakery run by sisters Jess & Becca are creating sweet treats that taste out of this world (tried and tested by the Gravity team of course) and specialise in gourmet vegan doughnuts. Yes, vegan doughnuts. Not tried them yet?! Well, let us tell you why you need these delicious, filled dough balls in your life.
Vegan doughnuts are far from bland and uninspiring. So if you are thinking this now, remove that thought from your head immediately. In fact, they come in a tantalizing array of flavours that rival their non-vegan counterparts. From classic favourites like cinnamon sugar and strawberry jam to more adventurous options such as pistachio and pomegranate, coffee brulee and even rhubarb and mango. These inventive flavours are a testament to the creativity and versatility of plant-based ingredients.
One of the biggest advantages of vegan doughnuts is the healthier ingredients they're made with. Unlike traditional doughnuts that rely on eggs, butter, and milk, vegan versions use plant-based alternatives. These substitutions often include ingredients like almond or soy milk, coconut oil, applesauce, and flaxseed. These plant-based ingredients reduce the saturated fat and cholesterol content, making vegan doughnuts a lighter, more heart-friendly option without compromising on taste or texture.
By choosing vegan doughnuts, you're making a compassionate choice that aligns with a cruelty-free lifestyle. Traditional doughnuts rely on animal-derived ingredients such as eggs and dairy, contributing to the demand for animal exploitation. Vegan doughnuts, on the other hand, omit these ingredients entirely, allowing you to indulge in a delicious treat while making a positive impact on animal welfare. And of course, embracing a vegan lifestyle extends beyond personal health and animal welfare—it also benefits the environment. Animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water pollution. By opting for vegan doughnuts, which do not rely on animal products, you're reducing your carbon footprint and promoting a more sustainable food system. It's a small but meaningful step towards protecting our planet.
Delicious eating that is kind to the environment. Have we whet your appetite yet? Check out Knead a Little Love today!
