Reading’s Science and Technology Centre
The town fosters tech learning through the University of Reading’s Science and Technology Centre. This centre both supports and accommodates technology companies, from start-ups to SMEs through various means including events dedicated to supporting students, small companies and aspiring entrepreneurs. An up and coming week long event this June is the Henley Summer Start-Up Boot Camp 2022, a course designed to promote and provide knowledge around setting up a business from scratch. This course is not only free, but is also online so it can be accessed by anyone, anywhere.
Location
Reading is just a short commune to London. So should your job take you to the capital, not only can you now catch the Elizabeth line from London Paddington to Reading, for an even quicker journey, overland trains from Reading can take you to London Paddington in less than 30 mins. With pretty much all mainline trains now also having WIFI on board, should you need to catch up on emails, this short commute provides the perfect opportunity.
Networking
With Reading already being a hub for multiple tech companies of all sizes, the town is a great place to network. Throughout the year, you’ll find numerous networking events around the town that provide great opportunities to support both business and professional growth. We find that one of the best sites online to find networking events is Eventbrite.
